The Peoria Park Civic Association hosts several events during the year, including a picnic and neighborhood-wide garage sale.  Let us know if you can volunteer to help organize an event or have new ideas!

bulletAnnual Picnic - August, 2008

PLANS ARE UNDERWAY FOR OUR FOURTH GIANT  BIRTHDAY BLAST TO celebrate Peoria Park's Twenty Eight Birthday!  There will be a children's parade, jump castle, games, prizes, gift certificates, music, hot dogs and lots more!  Original homeowners will be special guests.

We had a spectacular celebration last year with over seventy families attending, an estimated 150 adults and more than 60 children.  We hope that each of you will return and bring your neighbor for an even better time this year. If you missed last year's celebration you won't want to miss this one!  70 gift certificates were given out along with a storm door from Champion. Families gathered to play and chat with old friends.  New friends were made! Questions were answered by police and City Council Members. Firefighters showed off their truck. Most of all a community began to build a tradition with a life time of memories!

THE PEORIA PARK PICNIC - IT'S THE GREATEST  WAY TO MEET YOUR NEIGHBORS  AND DISCOVER THE  SUPER COMMUNITY  YOU  LIVE IN!

bulletNeighborhood Garage Sale - June 13 - 14, 2008
ANNUAL GARAGE SALE BRINGS IN THE MONEY!
Chalk it up for another successful win!

Our annual community garage sale sponsored by the Peoria Park Civic Association with newspaper ads and signs grew even larger this year. Twenty Five homeowners brought in car loads of buyers and some  reported their profits to be as high as $300.00 to $700.00, but most stated the biggest thrill was clearing out needed space with less to dust! It was also a great opportunity for children to learn about business as Riva and Sam T. found when they set up a home made lemonade stand on the corner of Oakland St.  We would definitely rate their homemade lemonade as number ONE and customers kept them busy!

Maybe next year we'll see hot dog, popcorn and cotton candy stands pop up along the streets and our community fun will grow.  Of course, the biggest plus is community involvement and neighbors meeting neighbors.  Many neighbors just strolled along the streets and visited with other neighbors. If you missed out, plan to join in on the fun next year!
